1. New public discussion topics were presented regularly in the online discussion forum. This forum was moderated and responses publicly visible.
  2. Interested groups and individuals were invited to provide written submissions.
  3. Written submissions will continue to be posted publicly on this site.
  4. The Parliamentary Secretary met personally with over 100 stakeholders and citizens to collect their stories and feedback.

The timelines for the engagement were:
 
B.C. Human Rights Commission Engagement Process. Key Dates: Online Discussion: September 20 - November 17, 2017. Written Submissions: September 20 - November 17, 2017. Parliamentary Secretary Meetings: September, October, November. Engagement Summary Report and Recommendations to the Attorney General: December 2017. Research and feedback from experts will be gathered throughout.

All input received will be considered as the role, functions and priorities of the new commission are finalized.
A final report and recommendations will be provided to the Attorney General from the Parliamentary Secretary by the end of December 2017.
 
The Ministry of Attorney General will report back to the public on the actions that government will be taking as a result of the feedback.
