Great Bear Rainforest

What is this engagement about?

The Great Bear Rainforest is a global treasure that covers 6.4 million hectares on British Columbia’s north and central coast – equivalent in size to Ireland.
The historic agreement that secures the future of the Great Bear Rainforest means more old- and second-growth forest will be protected, while still ensuring opportunities for low-impact economic development and jobs for local
First Nations.
Share your thoughts on the work to conserve it, the benefit it is to our province, and the legacy that is being created by joining the conversation on the Great Bear Rainforest website.

How can my contribution make a difference?

The engagement will run from November 4, 2016 and the input gathered will be used to help develop learning resources and further raise awareness of the Great Bear Rainforest and the people who have lived there for more than 12,000 years.
Together, we can ensure the Great Bear Rainforest is a legacy for generations to come.
