The Climate Leadership Plan

What was this engagement about?

Your feedback was invited on the second phase of B.C.’s Climate Leadership Plan until April 8, 2016.

In 2007, B.C. set greenhouse gas reduction targets based on the findings of the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change, the world’s foremost authority on the subject.

Since then, much has been accomplished. We have introduced North America’s first revenue-neutral carbon tax and achieved carbon neutral government every year since 2010. We have started down a path to a low-carbon future.

Phase 1 of the engagement process saw thousands of British Columbians provide their ideas and priorities for climate action. The province also received the Climate Leadership Team’s Recommendations Report, which included 32 recommendations. The wealth of input to date informs our current round of engagement.
