Process & Timelines
The Ministry of Education invited input from parents, stakeholders and the community about the student progress reporting approach for K-9 in order to develop regulation and policy. The infographic below describes all of the types of input that were gathered as well as the timeline for the engagement process:

Public input was received through the two streams of activities:
- An online parent feedback form; and
- Ministry-led community open houses.
The online feedback form was open between October 4, 2016 and February 28, 2017 at 4 p.m. and the community open houses were held in 11 locations around the province between October and February.
The Ministry also conducted research in the form of small invite-only group meetings with a random sample of parents to ensure that all ages, regions and ethnicities are represented in the final recommendations to the Minister. These small group parent sessions were held in October and November in Prince George, Fort St John, Cranbrook, Kelowna, Kamloops, Surrey, Victoria and Comox/Courtney.
Additional research was also gathered by the Ministry, as well as input from school district-led engagement sessions, and feedback from experts and teachers.
The findings from all of these inputs will be incorporated into the Engagement Summary Report, which will be posted on this site in June 2017.
There will also be opportunities for parents to give input on progress reporting for students in grades 10-12 in the future.
