There have been opportunities for the disability community to give input to government in recent years, including:
- Re-imagining Community Inclusion (2018-2019) focused on services for adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities over the next 10 years.
- TogetherBC: British Columbia’s Poverty Reduction Strategy (2017-2018) to reduce poverty and make life more affordable for British Columbians.
- Accessible Canada (2016-2017) federal legislation consultation.
- Previous Public Engagement with British Columbians (2013-2014)
All of the feedback received to date from these previous consultations has been considered in developing the engagement approach for B.C.’s new accessibility legislation.
