A key part of the Columbia River Treaty Review was to complete an extensive public consultation process. There was no consultation when the original Treaty was signed, and so it was very important to the Province to \u201cdo it right\u201d this time. The Treaty Review team conducted 4 phases of public consultation, and followed up with the communities who participated to make sure their concerns and ideas were captured correctly. Columbia Basin Trust involvement<\/strong><\/p>\n The Province\u2019s Columbia River Treaty Review Team receives and welcomes suggestions and assistance from Columbia Basin Trust regarding consultation with Basin residents. Columbia Basin Trust\u2019s mandate with respect to the Columbia River Treaty is to act as an information resource for Basin residents and local governments. It is the Province\u2019s role to consult with Basin residents on the future of the Treaty.
