The Province invites Indigenous peoples in B.C. – members and leadership of First Nations and Treaty Nations, Métis people, Indigenous people living in urban areas and representatives of Indigenous organizations – to share their feedback on the provincial government’s draft action plan to meet the objectives of the United Nations Declaration on the Rights of Indigenous Peoples.
There are a number of ways you can share your feedback by September 15, 2021:
- Review an online version of the draft action plan, and make your comments right on the website. Your feedback will confidential and not be publicly visible.
- Fill in a feedback form.
- If you would like to make a written submission on behalf of a First Nation or an Indigenous organization or body, you can also email a written submission to email@example.com.
Ministries will be meeting with First Nations and Indigenous partners directly to gather feedback as well.
Ministries also will reach out directly to provide opportunities for non-Indigenous partners, such as local governments and industry stakeholders, to share their thoughts on the matters that may affect them.
Feedback will be used to finalize the action plan, which is expected to be released later in 2021.
If you have questions about the engagement process, please contact firstname.lastname@example.org.
