What is this engagement about?

The provincial government is taking action to improve cell phone contract and billing transparency. A public engagement and legislative review are being undertaken to identify ways to enhance cell phone contract and billing transparency.

The survey asks citizens to share their views and experiences using cell phone services. Topics include contracts and billing, business practices, value and cost, and education and awareness.

It is intended for citizens that currently have a cell phone for personal use. People who do not currently have a cell phone may complete the survey based on recent experiences with a cell phone (i.e. within the past two years).

Online survey responses will be accepted until July 5, 2019.


How can my contribution make a difference?

The survey results will help to identify ways to strengthen BC consumer protection. They will also be used to encourage the federal government to deliver more affordable cellphone options.

Following the end of the consultation period, the survey results will be analyzed and summarized in a public report. A copy of the report will be made available in 2019.
