Housing Affordability Phase 2

Get Involved

What is this engagement about?

The Governments of Canada and British Columbia continue to deliver on their commitment to build housing that is safe, suitable, well-maintained, and more affordable. The What We Heard Report is now available and open for comment. This report is an aggregation of everything the Expert Panel on Housing Affordability heard through the online survey, written submissions, discussions, and roundtables.

We’re interested in hearing your feedback on the preliminary What We Heard Report.

Since feedback opened last fall, the COVID-19 pandemic has changed the way we live. With this in mind, we would like to hear your new ideas – in the context of COVID-19 as well as other feedback.

Please provide your ideas on how governments and other partners could increase supply and make housing more affordable in your community.

Please email your feedback to: experthousingpanel@gov.bc.ca

Feedback will be accepted until January 29, 2021 at 4pm (PST).

How will my contribution make a difference?

Feedback received throughout this engagement will help inform recommendations to the federal and provincial governments, and possibly to municipal governments and non-government organizations, to improve housing supply and affordability in British Columbia. A final report to the governments of Canada and British Columbia will be released in Spring 2021.

Details of the Engagement:
