West Fraser Road Flood Recovery

What was this engagement about?

In April 2018, high water levels from the spring freshet caused Narcosli Creek to erode five sections of the West Fraser Road, on the west side of the Fraser River, approximately 17 km south of Quesnel.

About 200 vehicles per day normally use West Fraser Road, which accesses First Nation communities, ranches, logging activities, farming lands and local residences.

On May 1, 2019, the Ministry of Transportation and Infrastructure invited the public to an open house to provide an update regarding the status of West Fraser Road. Ministry staff were on hand to answer questions and discuss options to re-establish regular service for affected residents.

129 people attended the open house.

If you were unable to attend, the open house display boards are posted here.

For more information, please contact Project Manager Rampaul Dulay at Rampaul.Dulay@stantec.com.

How will contribution make a difference?

The feedback received at the open house will help inform the ministry in confirming the final alignment for the road.
