Organizations and individuals throughout British Columbia were invited to share their thoughts on how the provincial government can improve access to programs and services in French.
The input from this province-wide engagement process will help identify priorities within B.C.’s francophone community and help negotiate a new Official Languages Agreement on French language Services with the federal government.
The current 2013-2018 agreement is set to expire on March 31, 2018.
November 4, 2017 – January 12, 2018
In total, there were 36 written submissions received from stakeholders and individuals.
Input leads to action:
The feedback received throughout this process will inform the provincial government on what is working well and what more can be done to increase its capacity to support French-speaking British Columbians. The information gathered will help create a new multi-year strategic plan for the Francophone Affairs Program and will help ensure a new agreement with the federal government meets the needs of B.C. Francophones and Francophiles.
