The Ministry of Environment is developing the Province’s world-leading spill preparedness and response regime by seeking to make legislative, regulatory and policy changes to the Environmental Management Act. The Ministry designed a five-phase engagement process to discuss the proposed changes with industry, communities, First Nations, first responders and the public. The third intentions paper was posted for public comment from April 5 – June 30, 2016. The public comment period is now closed, and the Ministry is reviewing the input to help inform the development of the new regulations. This page will be updated as materials and news become available.
