The Ministry of Transportation and Infrastructure invited the public to complete an online feedback form regarding the three Highway 1 four-laning projects that are planned in the Chase area: Hoffman’s Bluff to Chase Creek Road; Chase Creek Road to Chase, and Chase to Jade Mountain are the three components of the Hoffman’s Bluff to Jade Mountain project. The improvements will increase safety for highway users and contribute to better traffic flow in the region.
The public was also invited to attend a drop-in information session on May 31, 2016 in Chase, where ministry staff and other members of the project team were available to go over the information about the project, answer questions and to hear the public’s feedback on the project.
May 31 – June 12, 2016
- Online feedback form submissions: 45
- Open house attendees: 218
Input leads to action:
Input from the public has been helping to shape the design of the Chase Creek Road to Chase section, which will be the first component of the Hoffman’s Bluff to Jade Mountain project that will be constructed. The ministry has been making improvements to the design based on feedback from the spring 2016 public engagement and plans to show the public the updated detailed design by early fall, prior to starting construction.
