In addition, the construction of a commercial truck pullout will allow commercial vehicles to safely pull over for inspections and to rest.<br>\n&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h2><strong>Engagement Timeframe: <\/strong><\/h2>\n<p> The open house was held on October 15, 2015<br>\n&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h2><strong>Input Received:<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p>26 people attended the Darfield and Vinsulla open house.&nbsp; The public feedback was positive and was taken into consideration by the Ministry in finalizing the project design prior to tendering it.<br>\n&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h2><strong>Input leads to action:<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p>In April, funding for the new passing lane and commercial vehicle safety enforcement pullout on Highway 5 near Vinsulla was announced. The primary construction <a href=\"https:\/\/news.gov.bc.ca\/releases\/2016TRAN0136-001038\">contract was awarded<\/a> to a local Clearwater company in June 2016, and is expected to be completed in October 2016.
