Ministry of Transportation and Infrastructure conducted a second engagement on improvements to the Kootenay Lake ferry service and existing Balfour Ferry Terminal. This engagement provided an opportunity to hear from the public on proposed plans to address the ongoing service challenges while retaining the terminal in Balfour.<br \/>\u00a0<br \/>The public was invited to a public open house and to read the <a href=\"https:\/\/engage.gov.bc.ca\/app\/uploads\/sites\/121\/2018\/07\/kootenay-lake-ferry_discussion-guide-feedback-form.pdf\">discussion guide<\/a> prior to filling out an online feedback form.<br \/>\u00a0<br \/>The Consultation Summary Report and Consideration Memo are available <a href=\"https:\/\/www2.gov.bc.ca\/gov\/content\/transportation\/transportation-infrastructure\/projects\/balfour-ferry-terminal\/public-consultation\">online here<\/a>.<br \/>\u00a0<\/p>\n<h2><strong>Timeframe<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p>February 19 \u2013 March 30, 2018<br \/>\u00a0<\/p>\n<h2><strong>Input Received<\/strong><\/h2>\n<ul>\n<li>88 people attended two Public Open Houses<\/li>\n<li>78 people participated in three Small Group Meetings<\/li>\n<li>241 online and hard copy feedback forms were received<\/li>\n<li>42 open-ended submissions were received<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n<h2><strong>Input leads to action:<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p>The Ministry is moving ahead with planned improvements to the Kootenay Lake ferry service.
