The Ancient Forest\/Chun T\u2019oh Whudujut Park and Protected Area was established in 2016 and Slim Creek Park was established in 2004.<\/p>\n<p>Once a park is established, a management plan is created to outline the different values that the park protects and how these values will be managed, using identified management objectives and strategies to achieve these objectives. Management Plans are part of BC Parks\u2019 normal business and we have many management plans being drafted for parks throughout the province at any one time.<\/p>\n<p>The two parks and protected area are within the Lheidli T\u2019enneh First Nation traditional territory and are an area of cultural, ecological and environmental importance to the Lheidli T\u2019enneh. The management plan will be developed collaboratively by Lheidli T\u2019enneh and BC Parks.<\/p>\n<p>BC Parks sought public input as part of the initial planning in the development of the Ancient Forest\/Chun T\u2019oh Whudujut Park and Protected Area and Slim Creek Park.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h2><strong>Engagement Timeframe<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p>February 14, 2019 to April 30, 2019<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h2><strong>Input Received<\/strong><\/h2>\n<ul>\n<li>Just over 170 submissions were received. <a href=\"http:\/\/www.env.gov.bc.ca\/bcparks\/planning\/mgmtplns\/ancient-forest-slim-creek\/ancient-forest-slim-creek-june-public-presentation.pdf?v=1563225561923\">Public presentations<\/a> were held in the Prince George, Dome Creek, and McBride in June 2019.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h2><strong>Input leads to action:<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p>By providing your comments in the initial stages of this management planning process, you helped to provide baseline information that will be used to determine existing use, threats, and values that will be addressed in the management plan. You also helped shape the future potential for recreation, conservation, and cultural opportunities in the parks, to name a few.
