The ministry is planning to replace the bridge, built in 1966, with a modern, reliable two-lane structure.<\/p>\n<p>The existing bridge is primarily made of timber, with two 15 metre main spans, three jump spans and a timber deck. The new steel and concrete single span bridge will be built to current standards and will have a lifespan of 75 \u2013 100 years.
