The Harper Creek Mine Project is expected to produce 70,000 tons of copper-gold-silver ore per day (25 million tons per year) over a mine life of 28 years. The Harper Creek Mine Project is subject to review under both the Canadian Environmental Assessment Act and B.C.\u2019s Environmental Assessment Act and is undergoing a coordinated environmental assessment.<\/p>\n<p>The Canadian Environmental Assessment Agency (the Agency) and B.C.\u2019s Environmental Assessment Office (EAO)&nbsp;invited the public to comment on the Application\/Environmental Impact Statement (Application\/EIS) submitted by Harper Creek Mining Corp. The public comment period&nbsp;was held from February 19 to March 21, 2015. The Application\/EIS describes the project and its potential to cause environmental, heritage, health, social, and economic effects.<\/p>\n<p>A copy of the complete Application\/EIS is <a href=\"http:\/\/a100.gov.bc.ca\/appsdata\/epic\/html\/deploy\/epic_project_doc_list_333_r_app.html\">available online&nbsp;here<\/a> along with&nbsp;additional information about the environmental assessment process.<\/p>\n<p>Comments on the Application\/EIS were accepted by online form, email and fax. An information session was also&nbsp;held in Clearwater, BC.<\/p>\n<h2><strong>How can my contribution make a difference?<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p>Public comments will help inform the EAO of&nbsp;this project&#8217;s potential to cause environmental, heritage, health, social, and economic effects.
