Joffre Lakes Park Visitor Use Management Strategy<\/h1>\n\n\n\n

Joffre Lakes Provincial Park, located in the Sea-to-Sky Corridor near Pemberton, has grown in popularity as an outdoor recreation and camping destination, with over 190,000 people visiting the park in 2019 \u2013 a 222% increase since 2010. This growth has resulted in concerns around impacts to the park environment, visitor experience, and public safety.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

To address these concerns, BC Parks, in partnership with the Lil\u2019wat Nation and N\u2019Quatqua, created a 2019 Visitor Use Management Action Plan at Joffre Lakes Park. This Action Plan contained a number of short-term strategies to address the pressing issues within the park during the 2019 season. A Visitor Use Management Strategy has now been drafted, building on the Action Plan to create long-term management direction for the park.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Community members and stakeholders were invited to participate in BC Parks\u2019 Joffre Lakes Visitor Use Management Strategy planning process by completing a short survey with questions about the draft strategy.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
