Summary<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>B.C. reviews the timber supply for all timber supply areas (TSA) and tree farm licences (TFL). This review for the Kootenay Lake Timber Supply Area examines current forest management practices and their impacts on:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Timber supply<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Economy<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Environment<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Social conditions<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>The Kootenay Lake TSA is located in south\u2011eastern BC.&nbsp; The Kootenay Lake TSA is in the Selkirk and Purcell Mountain ranges.&nbsp; To the north is Glacier National Park and to the south is the Canada\u2011United States international border.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Read the <a href=\"https:\/\/news.gov.bc.ca\/releases\/2023FOR0021-000609\" title=\"\">Information Bulletin<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:25px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"objectives\">Objectives<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Based on this review, the chief forester will determine a new allowable annual cut (AAC) for the Kootenay Lake Timber Supply Area.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Objectives of the Timber Supply Review are to:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Examine management practices<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Examine environmental and social factors<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Receive input from First Nations, forest licensees, and the public<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Set a new Allowable Annual Cut for the Kootenay Lake TSA<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:25px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"contribution\">How your contribution makes a difference<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Public input is a vital part of determining an allowable annual cut.
