DRIPA provides flexibility for the Province to enter into agreements with Indigenous governments to share decision-making on the use of public land together. However, amendments to pre-existing legislation (like the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.bclaws.gov.bc.ca\/civix\/document\/id\/complete\/statreg\/96245_01\" title=\"\">Land Act<\/a>) are required to make this happen. DRIPA establishes the&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.un.org\/development\/desa\/indigenouspeoples\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/19\/2018\/11\/UNDRIP_E_web.pdf\">United Nations Declaration on the Rights of Indigenous Peoples<\/a>&nbsp;as the Province\u2019s framework for reconciliation. The&nbsp;Declaration Act&nbsp;aims to create a path forward that respects the human rights of Indigenous Peoples while providing better transparency and predictability related to the work we do together.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The Province wants to know your thoughts on sharing public land use decision-making.
