summary<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Appointed in January 2024, the Labour Relations Code Review Panel is reviewing the Labour Relations Code to ensure B.C.&#8217;s labour laws keep up with the needs of today&#8217;s workplaces and are consistent with the rights and protections enjoyed by other Canadians. The Labour Relations Code governs labour relations between provincially regulated employers, their workers and trade unions, and the rules for issues related to collective bargaining, such as how workers join unions, how employers and unions interact, and how labour disputes are resolved.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>On August 31, 2024, the Labour Relations Code Review Panel (the panel) provided its report to the previous Minister of Labour with recommendations to ensure that BC\u2019s laws keep up with the needs of modern workplaces and are consistent with the rights and protections enjoyed by other Canadians.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In preparing the report, the panel invited submissions from workers, labour organizations, business and industry groups, Indigenous partners, the legal profession and the general public.
