The purpose was to better understand leaseholder concerns, perspectives and priorities.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>A province-wide survey was conducted asking participants to:&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Rank a list of previously identified concerns in order of priority<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Provide additional details about the listed concerns and identify new concerns<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Provide suggestions to address the concerns<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>Two in-person engagement sessions were held in Vancouver and Victoria where participants were asked to discuss the issues in small groups and record group feedback, including priorities, additional concerns, and suggested solutions.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:25px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"results\">Results<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Some of the key results from the engagement are highlighted below.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Participation<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>The engagement saw a high rate of leaseholder participation: of the approximately 2,500 leasehold units in the province, 421<strong> <\/strong>completed survey responses were received, and 244 leaseholders attended the engagement sessions.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Demographics<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>Many participants identified as being seniors and low-income individuals. Of the survey respondents:&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Over half (58%) identified as retired and\/or receiving a pension&nbsp;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Nearly half (47%) indicated household income of less than $50,000\/year&nbsp;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>The length of time participants had lived in their current unit was highly variable:&nbsp;\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>60% had been in their unit for less than 20 years&nbsp;\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Of these, over a third (21%) indicated 4 years or less&nbsp;<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>10% indicated 50+ years&nbsp;<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Feedback<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>Participant feedback was valuable and informative.
