{"id":934,"date":"2012-12-31T13:59:41","date_gmt":"2012-12-31T21:59:41","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/engage.gov.bc.ca\/govtogetherbc\/?post_type=impact&#038;p=934"},"modified":"2023-03-09T10:36:21","modified_gmt":"2023-03-09T18:36:21","slug":"family-day-results","status":"publish","type":"engagement","link":"https:\/\/engage.gov.bc.ca\/govtogetherbc\/engagement\/family-day-results\/","title":{"rendered":"Family Day"},"content":{"rendered":"<h1 class=\"wp-block-post-title\">Family Day<\/h1>\n\n<h2><strong>Engagement Summary<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p>British Columbians were asked to provide input into whether they prefer the second or third Monday in February for the observation of the new Family Day statutory holiday.<br>\n&nbsp;<br>\nThe Ministry of Labour, Citizens\u2019 Services and Open Government engaged with the public through an online poll on its website, as well as through Twitter and email.&nbsp;The Ministry of Jobs, Tourism and Innovation engaged in consultation with various business and industry stakeholders, as well as school superintendents.<br>\n&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h2><strong>Timeframe:<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p> May 8 to May 22, 2012<br>\n&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h2><strong>Input Received:<\/strong><\/h2>\n<ul>\n<li>34,651 visits to the website<\/li>\n<li>3,069 online comments<\/li>\n<li>31,146 online votes<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h2><strong>Input leads to action:<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p>The results were used to determine the new Family Day statutory holiday.
