You can read more about the Act in our <a href=\"https:\/\/news.gov.bc.ca\/releases\/2025PREM0018-000403\" title=\"\">news release<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>This law gives the province new tools to:&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Deliver essential services faster <\/strong>by reducing delays in how projects are approved<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Make the permitting approval process quicker <\/strong>to get to decisions faster<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Help the economy grow<\/strong> during uncertain times by streamlining critical infrastructure projects<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>These changes will not lower the quality of project reviews or change safety rules. They will still follow all rules for protecting the environment and working with First Nations.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Projects that could qualify include:&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Hospitals and cancer centres<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Long-term care homes<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Schools and post-secondary facilities<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Student housing<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Other provincially significant infrastructure<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Get involved<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>The Ministry of Infrastructure asked for thoughts on how to make the new law work best.
