Geotechnical Investigation Work in New Westminster and Surrey – Mid-March to June 2020
Fraser Crossing Partners, the contractor who will build the new bridge, will undertake some geotechnical investigations in New Westminster and Surrey near the existing bridge, from mid-March to June 2020. Geotechnical investigations involve drilling boreholes in the project area to gather subsurface soil information.
Most work will be completed Monday to Friday between 7:00 AM and 7:00 PM. Work may be required in the early evening to complete some of the boreholes near roads, to minimize traffic disruption.

Updated: In-River Investigation Work near Existing Pattullo Bridge – February 25-29, 2020.
Fraser Crossing Partners, the contractor who will build the new bridge, will undertake some in-river geotechnical investigations near the existing bridge on the Surrey side of the river from February 25-29, 2020. Over the course of the work, you will see a barge and on-board drilling equipment in the river.
Measures will be taken to mitigate noise and we do not anticipate any disruption to local residents or businesses as a result. While drilling, operations will take place 24 hours per day.
The project is complying with all related environmental regulations regarding these works. This work will be undertaken in accordance with a Project Permit issued by the Vancouver Fraser Port Authority authorising the proposed in water works in this location. The study area will be left in its original condition once work is complete.
