The information collected through the engagement process will lay a foundation for the development of enhanced rural development programming. It will also be used to inform provincial government activities and initiatives to help support the needs and priorities of rural communities.

Stakeholder Engagement Sessions

Face-to-face sessions were held across the province to gain input and insight into rural development opportunities and priorities.  Sixteen sessions were held between December 14, 2017 and March 2, 2018 in all areas of the province – from Fort St. John to Port McNeill, to Cranbrook. These sessions were led by local organizations, and reflect the Province’s desire to partner with rural stakeholders to help us gain a deeper understanding of the needs and priorities of their rural communities.

In addition to face-to-face session, over 42 key stakeholders were interviewed for their knowledge, expertise and experience working in rural communities.
