British Columbia’s Minister of Public Safety and Solicitor General, Mike Farnworth, announced on March 5, 2018 that government intended to regulate how tickets for live events are bought and sold, to make it fairer for British Columbians. This includes, for example, tickets for music concerts, sports, live theatre and other cultural or recreational events.
Government wanted to hear from British Columbians who bought, or had tried to buy, tickets for live events, and those who sometimes resold their tickets, to ensure that any future changes would work for British Columbia.
Organizations that were directly involved in, or were impacted by, the business of ticket selling were invited to make a written submission, separately from the online questionnaire.
All feedback will be summarized into a pubic report that will be posted on this site in summer 2018.
The online questionnaire was open from March 6, 2018 to March 27, 2018 at 4:00 p.m.
