As the <em>Water Sustainability Act<\/em> (WSA) extends regulation to groundwater as well as stream water, it will increase the cost of water management.<br \/>\n&nbsp;<br \/>\nIn March 2014 government initiated a water pricing review. The review was guided by seven water pricing principles and informed by extensive public comment on government\u2019s <em>Pricing B.C.\u2019s Water<\/em> discussion paper.<br \/>\n&nbsp;<br \/>\n<a href=\"\/app\/uploads\/sites\/71\/2014\/03\/Pricing-B.C.s-Water.pdf\">Pricing B.C.\u2019s Water<\/a> (PDF \u2013 705 KB) \u2013 March 2014<br \/>\n&nbsp;<br \/>\nDuring the month-long public input period, government received over 130\u00a0comments and <a href=\"\/watersustainabilityact\/whatweheard\/\">submissions<\/a> from citizens, businesses and industry groups, environmental organizations, local government, agriculture and academia. Government also consulted key user groups.<br \/>\n&nbsp;<br \/>\nGovernment released <a href=\"\/app\/uploads\/sites\/71\/2016\/02\/F-R-fees-Table-Feb-4-Final.pdf\" target=\"_blank\">new fees and rentals<\/a> in February 2015, to take effect in 2016 when the WSA came into force.
