Engagement Background (Fall 2021)
Anyone with an interest in Predator Reduction was invited to participate in the survey September 15th to November 15th, 2021.
Feedback collected during the engagement process will be compiled into a What we Heard Report. This report will be made available to the public once completed. This What we Heard Report will be used by the Province of British Columbia to develop recommendations to British Columbia Statutory Decision makers on management actions.
Who are British Columbia’s Statutory Decision makers?
The Directors of Resource Management (DRM) are accountable for the delivery of region-wide operations and the coordination of consistent delivery of district activities under provincial policy and legislative direction within the Ministry of Forests, Lands, Natural Resource Operations and Rural Development. Exercises statutory authority under natural resources legislation and are responsible for the administration of commercial activities under the Wildlife Act (Guide Outfitters, Angling Guides, trapping and traplines, permits and authorizations). DRM’s ensures that all decisions are informed by appropriate scientific information, guidelines, and risk assessments to address established government objectives, and reflect environmental, social and economic values.
