The public engagement period ran from July 11, 2019 to October 15, 2019 at 4:00 p.m. During this time, interested individuals and organizations were invited to share their opinions through an online survey.

The Task Force will continue to conduct regional engagement across the province with industry, communities and stakeholders to get further input on opportunities to unleash the potential of B.C.’s agritech sector to support food security. The Task Force is meeting with stakeholders in the Lower Mainland, Vancouver Island, Okanagan and in the Cariboo/Peace region as part of the engagement process.

A final report of recommendations is expected to be made public in early 2020.

Next Steps

Feedback gathered through the online survey will inform the Food Security Task Force’s recommendations, in the form of a final report to the Province. The report is anticipated to be made publicly available in early 2020.
