Bruhn Bridge Replacement Project – Phase 2
Engagement Summary
The Trans-Canada Highway 1 RW Bruhn Bridge and Approaches Project involves four laning of Highway 1 in Sicamous including replacement of the RW Bruhn Bridge. The project extends along Highway 1 west of Old Sicamous Road to east of Silver Sands Road, and includes intersection improvements/turn-lanes at Old Sicamous Road, Old Spallumcheen Road, Gill Avenue and Silver Sands Road. This project is part of the Highway 1 Kamloops to Alberta Four-Laning Program.
In November 2016, three bridge replacement options were presented to the public at an open house. Read about the results of that initial engagement here or the full engagement summary.
Citizens were invited to a public information session on February 1, 2018. The session sought input on the preliminary design phase and presented two bridge-replacement options to the public. This input will help inform the ministry before it selects one of the two options to construct.

Input leads to action:
A summary report which details all the comments and feedback submitted from stakeholders has been posted to the site. This public feedback, as well as local government, First Nations and stakeholder input, will be considered by the ministry along with technical, environmental and financial information in selecting a preferred design option.
