Engagement Summary

DataBC encourages and enables the strategic management and sharing of data across the government enterprise and with the public.  It is responsible for the Open Data Initative and the Province’s Spatial Data Infrastructure and associated products and services.
 
In 2011, DataBC launched a blog as a platform to engage with the public on Open Data. DataBC highlighted opportunities available to use government data, outline government direction on data, and became the main communication channel between government and the broad community of data consumers.
 
Since 2011, DataBC has published 113 blogs on a variety of topics highlighting government data, collaborations and data community events. The DataBC blog team posts regularly and readers are welcome to comment on blog posts, and will receive responses from the team.
