Peace Valley OSB Project (EAO)

What is this engagement about?

The Environmental Assessment Office (EAO) of British Columbia invited public input from September 29, 2014 to November 3, 2014 on the Peace Valley OSB Project.

Louisiana-Pacific OSB Limited Partnership is proposing to change the oriented strand board (OSB) manufacturing process at their mill on the southeast side of Fort St. John by adding methylene diphenyl diisocyanate (MDI) as a component of the adhesive used in the panel production. OSB is a wood particle board used in many types of construction.

The EAO issued a Project Approval Certificate for the mill in 2002. Louisiana-Pacific OSB Limited Partnership has submitted its application for an amendment (Amendment Application) to the Project Approval Certificate. The Application also serves as a Technical Assessment Report for the Waste Discharge Authorization amendment application for air permit 17751.

How can my contribution make a difference?

Comments were invited on the Amendment Application online, by email, fax, or mail. In addition, the EAO invited the public to attend an open house in Fort St. John on October 2, 2014.
