Red Willow Wind Project (EAO)

What was this engagement about?

Red Willow Wind Limited Partnership (Proponent) is proposing to construct and operate a wind energy facility in the Peace River region in B.C. The Red Willow Wind Project is located southeast of the District of Tumbler Ridge. The proposed project would produce approximately 200 MW of power from wind turbines.
 
The Proponent must obtain an environmental assessment certificate before any work can be undertaken on the proposed Project. However, prior to the Proponent’s submission of an application for a certificate, the British Columbia Environmental Assessment Office must first approve the Application Information Requirements.
 
In order to provide information about the Application Information Requirements, the Environmental Assessment Office invited the public to attend two open houses held in Chetwynd and Tumbler Ridge.
 
Comments were accepted by online form, mail and fax until October 2, 2015.
 
All submissions received by EAO during the comment period in relation to the proposed Project will be considered public and posted to the EAO website.
 

How can my contribution make a difference?

The intention of seeking public comments is to ensure that all potential effects – environmental, economic, social, heritage and health – that might result from the proposed Project are identified for consideration as part of the assessment process.
