Hamber Park Management Plan
What was this engagement about?
Hamber Provincial Park is 24,000 hectares of densely forested park located on the provincial boundary with Alberta and surrounded on three sides by Jasper National Park. In 1990, Hamber was included in the Canadian Rocky Mountain Parks UNESCO World Heritage Site, being recognized for its geological and ecological features including the habitats of rare and endangered species, mountain peaks, glaciers, lakes, waterfalls, canyons and limestone caves and fossils. As a remote wilderness park, it is a favourite among back country hikers and campers.
How can my contribution make a difference?
BC Parks is currently in the process of developing a management plan for Hamber Park. Citizens were invited to review the draft management plan and provide their feedback until March 24, 2015. Comments were accepted by online form, email or mail.
