Highway 13 – Widening Project
Engagement Summary
The Governments of Canada and British Columbia have committed $25.5 million to widen a key portion of Highway 13 from two lanes to five lanes, building more capacity for cross border traffic at the Aldergrove/Lynden border crossing.
The upgrades will help to move cross border traffic more efficiently, and the project will extend safety benefits to the local road networks too. These improvements support border enhancements the Canada Border Services Agency (CBSA) has implemented at the Aldergrove/Lynden border crossing.
Feedback was collected on the project design, including traffic and queuing improvements, the addition of 3B Ave., improvements at 0 Ave., and environmental and drainage improvements.
The public was also invited to attend an information session on October 25, 2017 at the Poppy Estates Golf Course, Langley., where ministry staff and other members of the project team were available to go over the information about the project, answer questions and to hear the public’s feedback on the project.
