BC Parks and the Wuikinuxv Nation invited citizens to review and comment on the Kilbella Estuary Conservancy draft management plan.
Located on the central coast of British Columbia’s temperate rainforest within Wuikinuxv Traditional Territory, the 376 hectare Kilbella Estuary (Geldala) Conservancy is 88 kilometres southwest of Bella Coola. Surrounded by steep glaciated mountains, the conservancy’s diverse natural environment includes estuarine and river floodplains, wetlands, salt marshes and majestic towering Sitka spruce forests, and is prime habitat numerous aquatic species, birds and wildlife, particularly grizzly bear.
