BC Parks and the Gitga’at First Nation invited public comment on a draft management plan for K’nabiyaaxl/Ashdown Island Conservancy.
K’nabiyaaxl/Ashdown Conservancy covers 727 hectares of marine and uplands ecosystem on the northwest coast of British Columbia, south of Gil Island. The conservancy is 40 kilometres south of Hartley Bay and 120 kilometres southwest of Kitimat. The conservancy is in the traditional territory of the Gitga’at First Nation.
How did my contribution make a difference?
BC Parks invited citizens to review and comment on the draft management plan. At this stage in the planning process citizens had the opportunity to provide information, express opinions, suggest alternatives and have their say on how the protected area will be managed.
