Ancient Forest / Chun T’oh Whudujut Park Management Plan
Engagement Summary
This engagement informed the development of a management plan for the Ancient Forest/Chun T’oh Whudujut Park and Protected Area and Slim Creek Park. The Ancient Forest/Chun T’oh Whudujut Park and Protected Area was established in 2016 and Slim Creek Park was established in 2004.
Once a park is established, a management plan is created to outline the different values that the park protects and how these values will be managed, using identified management objectives and strategies to achieve these objectives. Management Plans are part of BC Parks’ normal business and we have many management plans being drafted for parks throughout the province at any one time.
The two parks and protected area are within the Lheidli T’enneh First Nation traditional territory and are an area of cultural, ecological and environmental importance to the Lheidli T’enneh. The management plan will be developed collaboratively by Lheidli T’enneh and BC Parks.
BC Parks sought public input as part of the initial planning in the development of the Ancient Forest/Chun T’oh Whudujut Park and Protected Area and Slim Creek Park.
