Monashee Park Management Planning
What was this engagement about?
BC Parks developed a management plan for Monashee Park.
Located 110 kilometres northeast of Vernon, Monashee Park covers 22,722 hectares. It was established in 1962 in recognition of the high quality recreational opportunities in the Monashee range. Today, the recreational opportunities include hiking, angling, horse riding, mountaineering, backcountry skiing, wildlife viewing, hunting and camping. The park contains the rugged peaks of Mount Fosthall and Slate Mountain, the majestic Rainbow Falls, and the scenic beauty of Spectrum Lake, Peters Lake and Margie Lake.
How did my contribution make a difference?
BC Parks invited citizens to review and comment on the draft management plan. Citizens had the opportunity to provide information, express opinion, suggest alternatives and have their say on how the protected area will be managed.
