Mount Geoffrey Escarpment Park Management Planning
What was this engagement about?
BC Parks is in the process for developing a management plan for Mount Geoffrey Escarpment Park.
BC Parks and the Comox Valley Regional District (CVRD) invited public feedback until September 15, 2014 on management planning for for the provincial and regional parks protecting Mount Geoffrey and the adjacent Crown land trails, which are administered by CVRD.
Located on Hornby Island, Mount Geoffrey’s diverse ecosystems of Douglas-fir forests, wetlands, steep bluffs and shoreline provide habitat for a number of rare plants and wildlife. The Mount Geoffrey parks and Crown land trails are popular with mountain bikers, hikers and horseback riders.
Background on the projects, including Frequently Asked Questions, can be accessed via the CVRD website: https://www.comoxvalleyrd.ca/parks-recreation/comox-valley-parks-trails/mt-geoffrey-nature-park
