Paul Lake Proposed Boundary Amendment
What was this engagement about?
BC Parks proposed amending the boundary of Paul Lake Park as directed in the 1996 Paul Lake Management Plan. The proposal fulfils BC Parks’ commitment to remove this area from the park and would allow the 12 water licensees to manage their water system without unnecessary restrictions as agreed during public consultations during development of the Management Plan. The area to be deleted is 2.8 hectares in size. This portion of the park does not contribute to the conservation or recreational values of the park.
Located 25 kilometers from the City of Kamloops, Paul Lake Park attracts moderate numbers of campers from spring to fall and heavy day use for swimming and picnicking in summer. The Park is also frequented for hiking, fishing and nature study through the spring, summer, fall and, to a lesser extent, the winter months.
How did my contribution make a difference?
BC Parks invited citizen comments on this proposed amendment.
