Trout Creek Ecological Reserve is 75 hectares, located 5 kilometres southwest of Summerland. B.C. Ecological Reserves are areas in British Columbia selected to preserve special natural ecosystems, plant and animal species, features, and phenomena. Ecological reserves are considered to be highly protected areas and least subject to human influence. Trout Creek Ecological Reserve was established to conserve representative semi-arid vegetation dominated by ponderosa pine and Douglas-fir in the southern interior of B.C.
How can my contribution make a difference?
BC Parks is currently in the process of developing a management plan for Trout Creek. Citizens were invited to review the draft management plan and provide feedback until April 13, 2015. Comments were accepted by online form, email and mail.
