BC Parks New Reservation Service
Categories:
At the core of our reservation service, is you – the camper.
That’s why, after we heard from you that our reservation system wasn’t meeting your needs, we changed it. Here’s the thing – we are campers too. We understand and appreciate your passion for parks, and know that for many people, advanced bookings are a necessary part of the camping experience that affords planning and security. We haven’t always been able to meet your expectations over the past two years (throw in a global pandemic with huge increases in visitation, to boot) – so we sincerely thank you for your patience. We have heard you and we have listened.
As we recently announced, amidst a new approach to the digital experience at BC Parks, we have streamlined the reservations process by having everything accessible from bcparks.ca – no more separate “Discover Camping” – you’ll now be welcomed to BC Parks’ reservation service at camping.bcparks.ca.
Our commitment to resolving the issues we heard from you over the past two seasons has included a monumental effort by our staff and partners, to bring a newer experience to life. Our primary goal of this new service, at launch time, is to give you a reliable booking experience. There are still a lot of improvements to come (availability notifications, anyone?) and some aspects of this new service will still be a work in progress as we launch this month. What you need to be assured of though, is that we are continuously improving how we connect and provide service to you to enjoy our cherished natural places and we are open to your feedback along the way.
To help you navigate this new service at camping.bcparks.ca, we have created some instructional videos to help you feel ready for the season.

While you are likely reading this blog for camping and reservations information, we would like to highlight that in addition to creating a more user-friendly reservation service, we also launched an entirely new test website – beta.bcparks.ca – at the end of January 2022.
Over time, this site will continue to be populated with rewritten and redesigned information from the current bcparks.ca – and throughout it all, we are continuously making adjustments based on direct feedback from you, our park visitors! We want this work to be co-created together and we have two ways you can engage with us to ensure beta.bcparks.ca is the best it can be, for you:
- Sign up for user research. Each month our team conducts 1-1 sessions with randomly selected users to have in-depth conversations on the usability, design and flow of the website. We are also looking into ways of engaging with a broader group.
- Play around in beta.bcparks.ca and submit feedback directly on our feedback form.
The process to transform how you access BC Parks’ digital service is ongoing. We want you on this journey with us and we look forward to hearing from you online and seeing you out in our parks. From computer to campground, we’re committed to ensuring you can find all the information and supports you’re looking for, in a quick and easy way.
