Parks Day 2023
Categories:

Celebrated on the third Saturday in July, Parks Day is a great opportunity to explore the outdoors! Spending time in nature has been proven to increase personal well-being and overall health. Head out to your favourite park or celebrate by visiting a new park. It’s also a chance to reflect on how parks provide recreation opportunities while maintaining and protecting conservation values.
Here are some ideas on how you can celebrate Parks Day:
- Go on a hike
- Swim in a lake
- Have a picnic
- Take your bike for a ride
- Leash your dog and take them on a trail
- Relax on a beach
- Read a book under a tree
- Get a fishing license and try your luck at fishing
- Stargaze after the sun goes down
- Participate in the BC Parks iNaturalist project
- Download the self-guided activity sheet that you can do in any park
