Engagement summary
We are inviting First Nations with Guardians’ programs or First Nations interested in establishing a Guardians’ program to participate in a B.C.-Guardians Gathering to engage with B.C. and to support an opportunity for First Nations to exchange information and share experiences with Guardians activities. Note that we are using the term “Guardians” broadly to include many different stewardship-related roles such as Watchmen, Rangers and Liaisons. B.C. recognizes that Guardians and similar positions are not new, reflecting roles that First Nations have held since time immemorial. B.C. seeks to work collaboratively with First Nations to confirm how the Province can support Guardians as First Nations-led programs and positions.
