Between March 12 and April 16, 2018,  you shared your ideas on guiding principles and standards for policing services in B.C.

The Province sought your input to support the development of guiding principles and standards to promote and ensure equality in the delivery of policing services in B.C. The Province committed to establishing these standards in response to a recommendation from the Missing Women Commission of Inquiry (MWCI), however this work also draws on the themes and findings of other inquiry and review processes across Canada.

Between March 12 and April 16, we collected your feedback on this subject to consider a broad range of viewpoints to further inform our work as we develop standards to promote unbiased policing. This will help ensure that the guiding principles and standards reflect the needs and interests of all British Columbians.

The What We Heard Report summarizes all feedback and input collected during the engagement. The Ministry of Public Safety and Solicitor General will consider the feedback in developing BC Provincial Policing Standards in 2018.
