Community-led engagement
The Anti-Racism Data Act was based on the feedback of over 13,000 people. That valuable information will continue to inform legislation moving forward including the broader anti-racism legislation. We heard from racialized communities—‘Nothing about us, without us.’
That’s why, for the anti-racism legislation, we are working with community organizations and engaging directly with Indigenous and racialized leaders and community members. We will continue to collaborate with the people most impacted by this legislation every step of the way.
Community-led public engagement – July to September 30, 2023
Indigenous, Black and other racialized people, as well as racialized people from faith-based and 2SLGBTQ+ communities will be invited to participate in community-led engagements throughout the province.
The input gathered over the coming months will help inform the anti-racism legislation to be introduced in 2024 so we can make life better for more people in B.C.
