What is this engagement about?
We want to keep reducing poverty in B.C., and we want our future actions to support those who need it most. We want your ideas on how to update TogetherBC: B.C.’s Poverty Reduction Strategy. Whether you have ideas about how to make more progress on poverty, or suggestions about how we can change our legislation to better serve British Columbians, we want everyone’s perspective!
Engagement timelines: March 1 to April 14, 2023

How to participate
All are encouraged to participate. If you or someone you know has personal experience of poverty, if you work or advocate for people with lived experience, if you’re a member of an equity seeking group, if you’re an Indigenous person or representative of an Indigenous community, or if you are a member of the general public with suggestions, we want your perspective. You can participate in one or more of the options below.
Public survey
Share your perspectives in a short survey open to all British Columbians. Surveys will be accepted until April 14, 2023.
Register for a public virtual townhall session in your region
Share your thoughts in a community virtual zoom session.
Submit your organization’s recommendations
All British Columbians, including employers, employees, organizations, professionals and Indigenous communities are invited to make submissions before April 14, 2023 at 4 pm.
Host a small group session
Your community organization, or organization representing an equity group can apply for funding to host your own sessions using a provided Conversation Toolkit. We welcome all applications, but be aware funding is limited for these small group sessions.
Next steps
Your feedback will help us understand what poverty looks like in communities across B.C. This includes key populations and how to develop new programs and expand existing programs and services to reduce poverty.
